Jason Welch is the winemaker behind Privatus Wine — and he brings 28+ harvests of deep California expertise to every bottle. His journey began in the cool vineyards of Monterey, led him through Alexander Valley, and now has him rooted in Napa Valley, where he's spent years perfecting his craft.

Most notably, Jason was part of the Lewis Cellars team when they were awarded #1 Wine in the World by Wine Spectator — a benchmark that speaks for itself. From small-batch craft wines to large-scale productions and everything in between, Jason has done it all.

In 2020, Jason met our founder Steven Fisher with one shared goal: create wines that over-deliver, are genuinely approachable, and make people happy. Since then, Privatus has sold over 50,000 cases — and we're just getting started.
